Brazilian Art Museum (MAB ) was established in 1961 with the exhibition ” Baroque in Brazil.” The space came with the proposal to establish and maintain works by Brazilian artists or rooted here. It has about 2,600 works of art, from academic to witness the disruption caused by the Modern Art Week 1922.
In the collection of MAB, there are works of renowned modernist artists like Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti and Candido Portinari. It also features works by artists from later periods as Tomie Ohtake, Evandro Carlos Jardim, Arcangelo Ianelli, Franz and young artists working in Brazilian art today as Sandra Cinto, Albano Afonso and Claudio Mubarac.
