Designed by architects Samuel and Cristiano das Neves, the Júlio Prestes Station is a historic railway station of the state capital. With 25 thousand square meters, the current building was inspired by New Yorkers terminals.
Its structure is of concrete and bricks, in Louis XVI style with imposing columns, sculptures on the tower and arches in the large front windows.
The station houses the headquarters of the Secretariat of Culture of São Paulo and, since 1999, the Sala São Paulo Symphony Orchestra concert hall of the State of São Paulo ( Osesp ).
