Opened in 1958, the National Assembly is considered the first shopping center in Latin America. Built at the time of the Paulista Avenue of the big houses, the complex was one of those responsible for turning the address of the coffee barons in the biggest financial center of Brazil.
It is currently divided between the ” horizontal ” building where merchants work, and the residential complex. The shopping center houses a mega book store, gym, currency exchange, drugstores and shops, plus two movie theaters, restaurants and snack bars.
