Founded in 1858, the Consolation Cemetery provides a green and peaceful environment amidst the bustling street of the same name, which brings together some 300 sculptures and works by renowned artists such as Victor Brecheret and architect Ramos de Azevedo.
The cemetery houses the graves of the characters of history as São Paulo Monteiro Lobato, Tarsila do Amaral, Ramos de Azevedo and Mario de Andrade, besides the imposing mausoleum of the Matarazzo family, most of South America and whose height is equivalent to a three-story building.
The script funerary art, organized by the administration of the cemetery, invites people to know the history of the cemetery, the works of art, people and families present in the cemetery.
