In the 80s, the Matarazzo industries, largest industrial complex in Latin America at the time, closed their doors. Casa das Caldeiras was responsible for the power supply and after its closure, has been transformed into a cultural center.
With historic architecture of the 1920s, the building was listed in 1986 as historical heritage of the city. Today, it is a stage and the residence of artists who use it as a source of inspiration, means of production, place of creation and presentation.
