Rua Augusta – with its bars, ballads and sidewalks – has been overtaken by folks from all different walks of life. And right in the middle of this mixed-pot hails an unlikely Texan bar, which appeals not only to American country boys and girls, but also to the more self-assured big-city people.

With a style from the 40s and inspired by bars that were located around the border between Texas and Mexico in those times, the Tex Redneck Bar takes after this influence in its food and decoration. But those who expect to find a heavily themed place for a specific crowd of followers couldn’t be more wrong. In addition to the bar and restaurant, there is a dance floor – where the crowd can dance all night to the sound of rock music, from the classics to pop rock–a bowling alley, poker tables, pool tables and even karaoke!

On the right side, dozens of people eating and drinking, sitting by the bar counter and several tables. On the left side, some bartenders work between the counter and several shelves filled with bottles of drinks.

Each parlor has its own atmosphere. Typically, you could start your evening by grabbing something great-tasting with friends, then have a glass of bourbon at the bar to warm things up before heading to the nightclub–and all in the same place!
