Run by chef Renata Vanzeto, age 23, Marakuthai is a contemporary restaurant with a Thai accent. With dishes of exquisite taste and delicate presentation, customers are sure to have a delightfully good-tempered culinary experience.
Renata first opened Marakuthai in Ilhabela, on the coast of São Paulo, and after winning the Chef Revelation award by Brazil’s top travel magazine Guia Quatro Rodas in 2008 she decided to bring the restaurant to the capital of São Paulo.
The first location ever opened in São Paulo is located in Jardins and features two distinct spaces.
Downstairs there is main hall, lounge and a small bar.
Upstairs, music permeates the atmosphere through both lounges, the palm-lined terrace, the bar counter and lounge with comfortable velvet-lined swing chairs, reminiscent of the lively Ilhabela air.
On the menu there is the famous Khiri Khiri (creamy shrimp dumplings served with saké pepper sauce) as one of the appetizers. Main dishes are mostly seafood, plus elaborate desserts such as Chocolate Gateau, or simpler treats like Grandma’s Brigadeiro.
The restaurant now has another recently opened location in Itaim.
