Fogo de Chão
Serving only salads and good cuts of meats on an exquisite buffet spread, Fogo de Chão maintains its tradition of serving barbecue on the spit.
Before they begin their jobs serving the customers, the entire staff is trained and versed in all the different types of meat, cutting skills, knowledge of wines and fundamental notions of nutrition. In addition, all the waiters speak fluent English in order to deliver quality service to the foreign public.
Opened in Porto Alegre, in 1979, a new concept was born: a barbecue steakhouse inside the city. Before Fogo de Chão, this kind of establishment was found only on roadsides and mainly attracted truck drivers.
And so, the target audience changed to city businessmen.
With thirty-two locations, nine are located in Brazil and the other twenty-three are in the United States. In order to serve the executive public, Fogo de Chão’s first franchise was inaugurated in Moema, São Paulo in the 1980s.
The capital of São Paulo is known for being the executive and financial center of Brazil, an ideal place to begin expansion of this steakhouse that was already successful in Porto Alegre.
The world famous Fogo de Chão steakhouse has passed on the tradition of the authentic gaucho style barbecue to the world.
