Juventude Park


 
Parque da Juventude opened in September, 2003, and changed the atmosphere of Northern Area of São Paulo, offering free sport and leisure attraction options for people. Lying on a 120,000 m² area, where previously was Carandiru Prison, this park is divided in three spaces: Parque Esportivo (Sport Park), Parque Central (Central Park) and Parque Institucional (Institutional Park).

The first one offers ten courts - two for tennis and eight for volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor football and tennis;  also tracks for skate and running. Physical education professionals organize “Noite Esportiva” (Sports Night), from Monday to Friday, from 07:00 pm to midnight, with several activities. There are also free taekwondo classes on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 am and 01:00 pm. Every Saturday, the class is open to public from 02:00 pm.

Lanes, gardens, woods, ornamental trees, a 16,000 m² small reserve of the Atlantic forest and fructiferous trees create the Parque Central (Central Park), where you can jog, track and ride a bicycle.

Parque Institucional (Institutional Park) is an area for courses and exhibitions. Buildings of technical school, a unit of Acessa São Paulo, with 110 computers, and also area for concerts and presentations.
