According to the Brazilian law number 9.294, July 15, 1996, Art 2 – It is forbidden using cigarettes, cigarillo, cigars, pipes or any other smoking product, made of tobacco or not, in closed private and public environments, except those for such purpose, properly isolated and with convenient air circulation.

§ 1 – public departments, hospitals and health center, classroom, libraries, working areas, theater and cinema are non smoking area.

Some restaurants offer non-smoking areas and others are completely non-smoking environment. Bars and nightclubs are more flexible.
